Special circumstances surrounding the family:
After being abandoned by both parents Josphat and his three siblings were left under the care of the elderly grandmother who suffers from dementia. There has been a lack of consistent adults who provide care and protection and meet the basic compulsory educational needs that come with school fee payments. They are forced to skip school because the fees could not be paid and some days to go without meals. Josphat is self-supervised and the family is indirectly a “child-headed household” without resources.

Supporting Josphat will build his confidence, regain happiness, and bring forth a ray of hope. Knowing he has a shoulder to lean on will automatically impact how he will view life, encouraging him to build resilience and empowering him towards self-sustenance.
Pauline Muthoni

Special circumstances surrounding the family:
Pauline hails from a dysfunctional family. Her parents are fully dependent on limited available casual work, which attracts low wages.
Evidently, there is an inadequacy of financial resources to flexibly cater for her school fees and other requirements. Pauline’s eldest sibling dropped out of school due to the family’s financial constraints. Pauline is at risk of failing to enroll at the tertiary level due to the educational cost involved

Sponsoring Pauline will intensely ease the family’s burden and enable her to uplift the living standards of her family by supporting her siblings once she gains stability. Sponsorship would also mean that Pauline will get a quality education, enabling her to pursue her dreams and break the family’s poverty cycle.
